Practice-Based Clinical Study

Practice-Based Clinical Study on Professional Outpatient Preventive Dentistry (POPD™)

Description

This practice-based clinical study, conducted in collaboration with board-certified veterinarians, demonstrated that Professional Outpatient Preventive Dentistry (POPD™) can be performed safely and effectively in appropriately selected patients under veterinary supervision. The study followed defined clinical protocols and evaluated outcomes related to patient tolerance, procedural quality, and clinical results. Although the study was not submitted for peer-reviewed publication due to technical limitations in the original data collection methodology, the findings directly informed the development and refinement of POPD™ standards, including patient selection criteria, hygienist training requirements, procedural safeguards, and clear referral thresholds to anesthetic dentistry when clinically indicated.
